Veneers can solve virtually any cosmetic issue with your teeth, including gaps, chips, enamel erosion, tooth discolouration and fractures.
Veneers involve the following steps:
Examination
An in-depth examination of your teeth is performed to ensure your teeth are not suffering from decay or gum disease prior to treatment. Your dentist will explain how veneers compare to composite bonding and the benefits of each process. Should you choose veneers, the smile design process can begin by taking photographs and records of your teeth. This may require multiple appointments to ensure careful planning of your smile.
We may take photographs to fully assess your smile and to allow thorough treatment planning. Your dentist also may wish to take records of your teeth to create a ‘trial smile’. This gives patients access to a visualisation of the final result before treatment begins. It also offers vital clinical insight into how your teeth bite together and how your speech and enunciation can potentially be enhanced through treatment.
Design & Tooth Preparation
Your teeth are minimally prepared to accommodate the veneers. Following this, digital impressions of your teeth are taken.
Your veneers are then made in the dental lab to the specifications set by your dentist. Temporary veneers are placed whilst you wait to have your long-term veneers made.
Final Touches
Veneers are then tried over the top of your teeth to check the aesthetic meets your expectations. A strong dental cement is used to fit the veneers in position.
