A bridge closes the gaps in your smile and those in your confidence too.

Your introduction to Bridges

Breakdown: a bridge consists of a false tooth retained with a supporting structure holding it in place. It is a fixed solution to tooth loss that does not need to be removed.

Life Benefits: economical solution for replacing missing teeth/prevents domino effect of issues related to having missing teeth.

Appointments: from 2-4 (depending on complexity).

How does a Bridge work?

A bridge uses the power and stability of your natural teeth to stay in position. One or two crowns may be needed to bridge a gap in your smile.

Crowns are attached to teeth either side of the gap and secure a false tooth within the gap.

Getting a Bridge requires the following steps:

  • Consultation/Examination
An in-depth examination of your teeth and oral health is performed. It may be that you require treatment for symptoms related to living with missing teeth for a period of time.
  • X-rays and digital photographs are taken.
Your dentist will advise on the need for dental bridge and explain how it will benefit you in the short and long term. A treatment plan is presented to you for approval, including a full breakdown of fees.
  • Preparing your mouth
The healthy teeth either side of the gap are prepared to receive the bridge. This generally involves removing some natural tooth structure so the bridge can fit comfortably over the top. Your bridge is made by the dental technician from the digital impressions taken of your mouth.
  • Fitting Your Bridge
Your bridge is fitted, and your dentist will check over its stability and aesthetic, ensuring you go home happy with a new set of teeth that keeps you smiling.

FAQs

Why Should I Choose A Dental Bridge For Tooth Replacement?

Modern Bridgework Is Incredibly Natural-looking
Modern bridges offer an excellent aesthetic outcome. They are easy to chew and speak with, taking a very short time to get used to.

Significant Improvement In Chewing
Even a couple of missing teeth can dramatically impair your chewing. Your bridge will be fixed in position, giving you the function to chew your food with complete ease and brush without removing it.

Improved Speech
The loss of one or two teeth can weaken your speaking ability, which can become a source of embarrassment. Your bridge will allow you to speak clearly, and help you gain back confidence.
